Members reviewed the budget for the present fiscal year. Tom will write-up the expected needs for the upcoming year and members will take a final look at this in February.
- Priorities/Items for 2013
Members reviewed the priority items for 2012 and began the process of creating a new list for 2013. This will be completed in the February meeting.
This item was postponed due to absent members.
Tom reported that Diane Dubrowski, author of End of The Long Summer, may be an upcoming speaker at the FCCOL.
Ongoing Business
Lauralyn will discuss Earth Day 2013 with Heather Fried. Due to the school break and the busy calendar because of the holidays this has been delayed. She will let Linda know the outcome for further planning purposes with the FCCOL.
The link to the Huffington Post’s Green Page is now on the Conservation Commission’s page on the town site.
Maureen will write a piece on clover for the upcoming issue of Events.
Lauralyn reported that she received an email from Selectwoman Nosal stating that she had attended the organic lawn care workshop led by Chip Osborne and was very complimentary of Chip and all that he presented.
Maureen will schedule a time that she and George can meet with Chuck Lee of DEEP. She will send an email to all members when the date is set for members to attend as their schedules allow.
Maureen expressed the need for the Roger’s Lake Authority to be held to the same guidelines as all commissions are, specifically, consistent submission of meeting minutes. Lauralyn suggested Maureen contact Dennis Overfield of the RLA as he often takes notes when Liz Sunshine is absent from those meetings.
George continues to work on the Conservation Commission’s recommendations.
The meeting adjourned at 8:44 pm.
